Air-conditioning typically accounts for around half of a building's total energy usage in Singapore. At the Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC), a world-class aviation training facility, thermal comfort is crucial for both trainees and employees.
AATC’s existing air-conditioning system supplied a constant airflow throughout the facility, leading to overcooling in some areas and higher energy consumption. To enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve thermal comfort, AATC sought a solution that could dynamically optimise cooling based on real-time needs.
To overcome this challenge, SP Group will deploy its GET (Green Energy Tech) Control building intelligence system at AATC to improve occupant thermal comfort and enable energy savings. This advanced micro-climate control solution leverages artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT) to optimise cooling by dynamically adjusting temperatures in different areas of the building, based on real-time weather conditions and the number of people present in each micro-zone.
On a larger scale, GET Control will enable Airbus's largest flight crew training facility in the world to eventually qualify for Green Mark, a green building certification by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), in line with the Super Low Energy Technology Roadmap published by Singapore's Building and Construction Authority.
