Singapore, 6 August 2024 – Singapore Land Group (SingLand) and SP Group (SP) will be ramping up electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities by 25 per cent at SingLand properties, providing drivers with more green mobility options. As part of this year’s plan to roll out eight new charging points, four were launched at Singapore Land Tower last Thursday.
Both companies will install another four new charging points at SingLand’s shopping mall West Mall by end 2024. An increase in the number of charging points at Marina Square is also in the works. The new charging points at West Mall will comprise two AC charging points and two DC fast-charging points. Once completed, this will increase the total number of charging points in SingLand’s properties to 38. This is part of SingLand’s long-term commitment to encourage low-carbon modes of transport at its properties.
Mr Nicholas Loh, Head of Building Management Services at SingLand, said: “We are pleased to work with SP to roll out more electric charging points at our properties. This allows us to meet growing demand as more drivers make the switch to electric vehicles, while enabling us to do our part to support the nation’s transition to a cleaner-energy vehicle population by 2030. We look forward to deepening our collaboration with SP, our preferred charging partner, to install more charging points at our properties and to bring more value-added EV services to our tenants and shoppers.”
“Our partnership with SingLand will provide EV drivers in Singapore greater convenience and accessibility as we continue to expand charging facilities at SingLand properties. This offers EV owners wider charging options where they work and play,” said Mr Dean Cher, SP Group’s Head of Mobility. “With more locations across Singapore added to our extensive charging network, we are empowering Singapore’s drive on green mobility and enabling a concerted shift towards decarbonisation.”
SingLand and SP will further collaborate to offer several value-added services aimed at attracting more EV drivers to charge at its properties. This includes seasonal promotions in the form of rebates where drivers who charge a minimum amount will receive a charging voucher on the SP app to offset future charging sessions, as well as specially tailored subscription packages for SingLand properties’ season parking holders across SP’s EV charging network across Singapore.
This joint sustainability initiative builds on other green collaborations between SingLand and SP. This includes a partnership agreement in May 2023 for SP to provide energy-efficient district cooling services to SingLand-owned Clifford Centre. Both companies also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to discuss the prospects of designing, building and operating a satellite plant for the Marina Bay district cooling network at Marina Square.
SP is also installing various GET™ (Green Energy Tech) solutions across several SingLand properties, such as Singapore Land Tower, SGX Centre 2, Tampines Plaza 1 & 2 and Marina Square. This includes the GET™ Control solution at Singapore Land Tower – a micro-climate control system that optimises energy usage and enhances occupant comfort.
