Rangsit University (RSU), a private university in Greater Bangkok, takes climate change as seriously as education. It aims to develop a smart, low carbon campus as part of its commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility. The goal: become a shining example among educational institutions in adopting sustainable solutions to drive decarbonisation.
To help RSU meet its green goals, SP will install a 2 megawatt-peak (MWp) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system across nine buildings on campus, and a floating solar PV system on one of the university’s ponds. But being energy efficient does not mean sacrificing comfort – data generated from SP’s GET (Green Energy Tech) building intelligence system will keep occupants cool in a sustainable fashion. By the end of 2024, RSU will be able to green up to 21 per cent of its total energy consumption and lower its carbon emissions by 1,400 tonnes annually.
