In its quest to become the top food and beverage brand in Thailand, Malee Group aims to optimise energy usage while staying committed to sustainability. To achieve maximum efficiency and minimise environmental impact, the company saw renewable energy as the ideal source of power for its operations. Its target: the Sun.
SP Group entered a partnership with Malee Group to install and operate a 1 Megawatt-peak (MWp) rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system at Malee’s Nakhon Pathom factory. As the company’s first factory that draws solar power for its energy mix, the building houses approximately 1,600 solar panels that will generate 1,378 Megawatt-hour (MWh) of clean electricity annually. The PV system will supply around 15 per cent of the factory’s energy requirements while reducing carbon emissions by 700 tonnes per year.
